TK Star Student Discipline Plan
TK students are expected to behave in a manner that does not prevent the teacher from teaching or a student from learning. Each student takes home a monthly behavior chart placed inside their homework folder. Behavior charts are taken home daily; this will allow more communication between school and home. A green stamp or sticker will be placed on their monthly behavior chart for good behavior. When rules are broken, there are consequences:
First Offense- a warning is given to the student
Second Offense- the student sits 3 minutes on the bench for recess and receives a yellow stamp on his/her behavior chart.
Third Offense- the student sits 5 minutes on the bench for recess and receives a red stamp on his/her behavior chart.
A Behavior Notice goes home with your child when he/she receives a yellow/red stamp on their behavior chart. Please make sure to read, sign and return the notice inside your child's homework folder. Excessive misbehavior will be handled with a parent-teacher conference.

Homework
Purpose- Homework is used to reinforce classroom activities and instill responsibility.
Children should have a quiet (no T.V.), well-lit 'Homework Corner', well-stocked with pencils, crayons, glue, erasers, and scissors (no markers or pens please). Homework comes home in the student's folder every Monday. Please look over your child's work after it has been completed. Homework should be complete and turned in on Friday. There will be days when you see your child bringing home papers that have been corrected or test papers that may require your signature. Please look over all papers and discuss them with your child. Keep all papers at home, only return papers that require your signature.

Community Clean-Up
As part of our community outreach service we are asking each family to participate in a Parish Clean-Up Day. Transitional Kindergarten will be responsible for clean-up in the month of June. Our clean up date will be June 6th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Please wear comfortable clothes that may get dirty and bring plenty of water for you and your family. Different groups of families will be assigned to different areas of our campus. You will need to bring brooms, rakes, blowers, gloves, trash bags, weeding tools, paper towels, sponges, windex, and/or bathroom cleaning supplies. Our mission statement reflects our desire to provide our students with a Faith Community, what a better way than to be service to our Parish and school.
